Random House Publishing

Client: Random House Publishing
Random House, Inc. is the world's largest English-language general trade book publishers. It is a division of Bertelsmann AG, one of the foremost media companies in the world. Random House produce audiobook titles from a broad range of popular publications, read by distinguished recording artists, popular actors or, in many cases, the author.

Project: Star of the Sea
One of Ireland's leading actors, John Kavanagh, was hired to record the Audiobook version of Joseph O'Connor's best selling, "The Star Of The Sea". The performance was produced for Random House Publishers by Georgia Marnham and Mike Carrington-Wood who have won numerous prestigious awards for their productions, including a NIBBY Award for "Forgotten Voices" and the SWPA Award for "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night".

One of the reasons Random House chose Trend was because our recording studios have been designed specifically for spoken word recordings such as this, and will accommodate up to eight actors in a comfortable and spacious studio.  The entire book was captured by the world's smoothest voice microphones from Neumann and Audio-Technica, and the final masters were perfected on our industry leading SADIE Digital Editing Systems in one of three air-conditioned Control Rooms.

The final project is available via cassette or CD here
