Production & Manufacture
There are two methods used for the placing your material on an CD - Duplication or Replication.
Duplication (more commonly known as Burning) is typically used when you need less than 500 copies or require a very fast turn around.
Replication (Moulding) is the process used for orders over 500 where the CD is manufactured and the data is placed on it during the molding of the disc. This is the standard process for all CDs to be used for mass distribution or to be sold in a retail environment. Replication requires the production of a glass master which is used to mould the data on the final discs.
