History
From its inception back in 1968 Trend Studios has had a history of innovation and of being first with the latest technology for recording and media production. Below is a list of key some of those key developments along with with some landmark moments from Trend's 40 year history:
1968 Trend Studios is established in Dublin
1970 First 8 Track Tape Recorder in Ireland installed
1970 First ever recording session with Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy producing 'The Farmer'and 'The Lost Recordings'
1971 First ever multitrack recording in Ireland of a live performance , Leonard Cohen at the National Stadium for (CBS Records)
1973 First 16 Track Tape Recorder in Ireland installed
1970-1978 During the 70s virtually every major Irish star of the time was recording in Trend, Horslips,The Dubliners,The Dixies,Thin Lizzy, Planxty, Joe Dolan, Larry Cunningham, Tony Kenny, to name a few 1978 Music Recording Studios closes as the company decides to concentrate on Cassette Duplication 1982 Trend opens Specialist Speech recording Studios 1987 Cassette Duplication reaches a 2 Million units per year.
1987 First Dolby HXpro introduced to Ireland
1988 Trend moves to South Prince's Street
1990 First Digital Audio Editing Suite installed in Ireland (Sonic Solutions)
1993 Trend opens Video Duplication Plant
1993 First CR-R duplication machine installed in Ireland.
1994 Trend duplicates the Riverdance for Rwanda Video - biggest selling Irish VHS of all time. BASF award for excellence.
1997 Trend opens CD Manufacturing Plant
1998 Digital Cassette Duplication introduced
1998 First DVD order processed
2003 Trend moves Studios and CD Pressing plant to state of the art premises in Park West Dublin 12
2006 Hot Press releases Phil Lynott's 'Lost Recordings' as a free CD 2010 Trend reopens Music Recording Studios!
